integrated design competition
Office / Retail Building - Yards Waterfront District - Washington DC
The Integrated Design Competition is a capstone project for the KSU undergraduate architecture program. Students, in pairs, teamed up to design a 250k square foot office+retail building in Washington DC that incorporated all building systems from structure and HVAC to plumbing, electricity, and overall sustainability. Each project required a prime tenant for the building. This project's tenant was Tesla Motors because of their drive for a cleaner source of transportation and their upscale product would enrich the developing Yards District.
