I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. Bre and I spent a couple of days with family at my sister's place in Ohio which was a great time as usual. For fear of turning this "Fitness Blog" into a "Junk Food" blog I will not share with you the amount of BAD food I had over the holiday. :/
The good news is, all of that bad food I ate really didn't affect me much at all. How you might ask? Because I have been eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis for the entire year thus far, a couple of days of junk food binge eating isn't enough to overpower a steady healthy diet and fitness program. Remember when you were young and could run around outside all day, drink tons of pop, eat McDonald's 3 times a week and not gain a single pound year after year? It's kind of the same thing. Your metabolism starts to build up and while a single bag of potato chips should feel like you ate 10 pounds of fat it is basically taken, digested and disposed of without any serious side effects.
The most important thing to keep in mind is to not let a holiday of eating bad food become an every day habit of eating bad food again! It goes back to my earlier post about the steps toward a healthy lifestyle. You have to have some will power to be able to eat junk food for a day and then not have the desire to do it continuously. For me, it's easy now. Even though that cake my mom made tasted like heaven, the whole time I knew that it was a one day event and it wasn't hard to convince myself. Knowing what that cake would do to me as part of a regular diet is just disgusting. Developing healthy eating habits and seeing firsthand results makes saying no to junk food easy!!!
The Coming Weeks
I will still be here every day I just won't be submitting as many posts. I'll still be adding to the site and to the blog and would love to answer any and all questions or concerns you have about anything you find on RH3a. Until next time...work hard and eat healthy!
