I did sneak a workout in on Friday after work but I have been off since then. I even thought I was going to be off again today. Bre and I needed to run a few errands after work but I somehow got her to finish shopping in record time(lol) and snuck off to the gym for a solid workout. I just couldn't take it anymore. I had to get some normalcy back in my life. Haha, I'm making it sound like something horrible has happened to me but really, even though I've been working out regularly for years, this past 6 months I have taken it to a different level and it is totally part of me and my life. I literally crave working out like I used to crave taking naps. I need it.
And this leads to a very good point I should make. Working out regularly is great. If you can get to the gym at all then it's better than nothing. But the past 6 months have shown me that outside of a couple months here and there, I've never taken "working out regularly" seriously. Sure I lifted weights a couple times a week but I wasn't pushing myself. I didn't have a dedication to it like I do now and I honestly believe it's because I didn't have goals. If you haven't yet, check out my post on setting goals. At the beginning of the year I set a very specific goal for myself of getting a six pack. That might seem like a simple ordinary goal but it's something I've wanted for a couple years but never put the time in. I've changed my diet, I've gotten a workout buddy (who just happens to also be my best friend since the day I was born) and I have put the gym just under my relationships as the most necessary thing in my daily life. If I plan on going to the gym, then it better be a damn good excuse for me not to and I go an extra day for the week if such an occasion arises.
The point is, you may hate working out but if you set a goal for yourself, suck it up and have some will power you will succeed. Make going to the gym a necessity. After a very short time, it will no longer be a hassle or something you "have" to do. It will be something you can't live without. You'll think about it as soon as you wake up. If you know what you're shooting for it becomes like a competition. Will you win or will you fold under your own pressure and just stay home to watch tv? The choice is yours and yours only. Make it happen!! BECAUSE CHLOE SAYS SO!
