Cellucor C4 extreme seems to be all the rage right now. (Do note that this review is simply my experience with the product and nothing more. Your opinions/reactions with the product could be different.) When I went to the store for the first time I wasn't sure what to get but the guy working there seemed to be very knowledgeable(or just a good salesman) and suggested that for a good energy boost and a slight "pump" C4 was the way to go. I do not take nor did I begin taking a pre-workout supplement for any reason other than a boost of energy. I was skeptical that it would even work but the C4 was on sale so I went for it. Here is my take on the product:
Cellucor C4 Extreme - fruit punch
Of the 2 pre-workouts I have tried I definitely like the taste of the C4 better. It has more of a sour kick to it than the Assault does which I like. It's almost a fizzy type of drink and tastes really good with a squeeze of lemon in it!
A couple of times I noticed a little bit of clumping when using just a blender bottle and water. I would to take my last chug and get a rock of pre-workout to chew on. Not a big deal to me though. I"m sure some high-maintenance people would write a 5 page post on how terrible the mixability is if they encountered the same problem but I'm not one of those people. It works fine for me!
The first 6-8 times I took C4 it was awesome. I became 'extremely' energetic with no negative side affects like a racing heart or bad crash afterwards. After the first couple of weeks the affects started to diminish a little bit. I give this a 3/5 because I'm only comparing it to 1 other pre-workout which I gave a 4/5. After the energy boost started to slowdown I took 2 scoops before a work-out. About 20 minutes after I got to the gym my foot all the way up to my left arm started tingling. I started freaking out, I thought something was seriously going wrong. Then I remembered I took 2 scoops that day. When I bought the stuff, the guy told me I would feel pins and needles if I was taking enough. He wasn't wrong. Pretty soon my entire body was tingling. It was kind of a weird feeling and I haven't gotten that once with the pre-workout I'm using now.
In the end, I could have just started taking 2 scoops from then on out to get the boost that I had originally gotten. The reason I give this 3/5 is because it would have taken twice the amount of supplement to keep feeling the affects that I'm still feeling 20 servings into the MusclePharm Assault pre-workout. I will definitely go back to C4 at some point because it did work but personally, my body adapted to it quickly.
Next week I will probably do another circuit workout but I'll switch things up a little bit. As always, SHARE what you like on FACEBOOK/TWITTER/PINTEREST/INSTAGRAM and comments are welcomed and encouraged! Until next time...
